На Аляске открыто крупное месторождение нефти

Представители испанской нефтегазовой компании Repsol и американской компании Armstrong Energy сделали заявление об открытии нового крупного месторождения нефти на Аляске, вблизи населенного пункта Нуиксут, в регионе Норт-Слоуп. Это месторождение, получившее название «Horseshoe», является самым крупным из всех обнаруженных наземных месторождений США за последние 30 лет. 25%-ая доля в «Horeseshoe» принадлежит испанской компании, остальная часть – американской Armstrong.  

По оценкам компаний, объем извлекаемой нефти в новом месторождении может составлять порядка 1,2 миллиарда баррелей. Начало активной добычи в этом районе Аляски  планируется с 2012 года. Суточный объем добычи может достигать 120 тысяч баррелей. 

Свою деятельность на Аляске Repsol начала еще в 2008 году. В 2011 году испанская компания совершила несколько крупных открытий в этом районе. Чистая прибыль нефтедобывающего предприятия в 2016 году составила более 1,7 миллиарда евро.
