The introduction of US duties has forced India to think about restoring ties with China, severed due to the border conflict in the Himalayas. According to analysts, this step provides New Delhi with new opportunities for strategic maneuver and strengthening its position in dialogue with the United States, avoiding unnecessary pressure. Pankaj Saran, former Deputy National Security Adviser of India, noted that the current situation creates conditions for establishing peace in the region. The rapprochement with China, according to experts, can also be seen as a demonstration of India's independence in response to the actions of US President Donald Trump. However, this does not mean full agreement with Beijing, as key contradictions between the countries remain. The border dispute remains a source of tension. The line of actual control in the Himalayas has not been demarcated, which led to armed clashes in Eastern Ladakh in 2020. Later, a mutual withdrawal of troops began, achieved through negotiations.
