Еженедельный отчет Управления энергетической информации США (EIA) отразил неожиданный рост коммерческих запасов нефти в стране на 1,852 млн баррелей. Эксперты ожидали сокращения запасов на 1,279 млн баррелей. Днем ранее Американский институт нефти (API), собирающий данные по нефтяным запасам независимо от отрасли, также сообщил о росте показателя на 2,903 млн баррелей.

Министерство энергетики страны также отметило, что в Кушинге, одном из основных торговых хабов для сырой американской нефти WTI, запасы углеводородов выросли на 461 тыс. баррелей.

Несмотря на рост запасов, традиционно оказывающий давление на котировки нефти Brent, сырьевой актив продолжает свое укрепление. Цены на нефть достигли своих четырехлетних максимумов выше уровня в $82 за баррель и продолжают локализоваться в этой области.
