According to the US Federal Reserve, industrial production in September increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month. Analysts on average expected an increase of 0.1%. According to the revised data, in August the volume of industrial production decreased by 0.1%, while earlier it was reported a decrease of 0.2%. In annual terms, production in September increased by 5.3% after an increase of 3.9% in August. Capacity utilization in the reporting month rose to 80.3% compared with a revised 80.1% in August. Analysts expected the indicator to remain at the previously indicated August level of 80%. In particular, production in the processing industry increased by 0.4% compared to August (the forecast assumed an increase of 0.2%). In annual terms, output in the processing industry increased by 4.7% after rising by 3.5% in August. Production in the extractive industry increased by 0.6% in monthly terms, the output of vehicles – by 1%.
