Representatives of the US Federal Reserve System are preparing for a meeting in Jackson Hole, which starts on Thursday and will last until Saturday inclusive. The main event of the meeting will be a speech by the head of the US Federal Reserve System, Jerome Powell, which will take place on Friday. Market participants expect that the head of the regulator will reveal the vision of the economic future and possible steps on the interest rate. Powell's speech will follow the publication of the minutes of the Fed's July meeting. These minutes showed that many of the Fed officials are concerned about the growing threat of inflation, which may indicate a possible rate hike in the future. Investors will also pay attention to whether Powell believes that stricter measures are needed to control inflation, or current actions are sufficient to maintain the rate at the same level. In addition, it is worth paying attention to comments on a potential rate cut in 2024. There is an 89% probability that the rate will remain unchanged at the upcoming September Fed meeting.
