The exceptions for smartphones and computers may be temporary as the president seeks to restart chip production in the United States. Trump also initiated a review of trade policy in the semiconductor sector for the sake of national security. The UK has temporarily lifted duties on 89 types of goods, including pasta, juices, spices and gardening tools. For two years, this measure will allow businesses to save at least 17 million pounds per year. The government is committed to stimulating economic growth, supporting entrepreneurs, and lowering prices through free trade. In March, China's exports grew by 12.4% year-on-year, which was the highest rate since October. This was due to the accelerated shipment of goods amid the threat of new US tariffs. Imports, on the contrary, decreased by 4.3% due to weak domestic demand. Since the beginning of the year, exports have slowed, while imports have fallen by 8.4%. Rising U.S. tariffs could destabilize supplies and increase inflation. China has suspended exports of rare earth minerals and magnets in response to the US duties. These materials are necessary for the production of automobiles, aerospace equipment, and are also used in semiconductors and military equipment. The Chinese government has imposed restrictions until a new export regulatory system is developed. Moscow is ready to restore diplomatic relations with Tbilisi. According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin, the Russian side is ready to go as far as the Georgian side is ready to go to restore relations.
