The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of significantly reducing import duties on goods from China. It is planned that tariffs may be cut from the current 145% to the level of 50-54%. According to informed sources, such a decision may be made as early as next week and will become an important part of the trade negotiations to be held in Switzerland. Earlier, Donald Trump announced the need to review the level of duties. According to him, the continuation of their maintenance at such a high level will make it impossible to further develop trade relations between the two largest economies in the world. The American authorities are actively discussing the option of significantly reducing the tariff burden on Chinese imports. The purpose of this measure is to create more favorable conditions for reaching a compromise in the upcoming negotiations aimed at signing a new trade agreement.
