The Chinese government opted for a proactive fiscal policy but still cautious in a neutral monetary policy, according to the former central bank governor during the meeting of the Group of 20 finance ministers and central banks. On Wednesday, the central bank published the statements of the PBOC governor, Zhou Xiaochuan, during the G20 meetings in Argentina. Two days earlier, a new PBOC vice governor, Yi Gang, was appointed to take the place of Zhou. Yet, the most recent remarks of PBOC still referred to as the central bank’s governor.
