The Italian authorities intend to allocate 7.5 billion euros ($8.4 billion) to combat the epidemic of a new type of coronavirus COVID-19, which turned the country into a European epicenter of the disease. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte noted that the country needs emergency support measures. According to Finance Minister Roberto Gualtieri, the government plans to introduce an incentive package next week. It will include funds that will allow a number of companies affected by the epidemic to suspend payments on loans. In addition, the money will go to health and emergency services. At the same time, as Gualtieri noted, an additional budget deficit in Italy will amount to €6.35 billion. According to recent data, the number of deaths from an outbreak of coronavirus in Italy per day increased by 41 to 148. The total number of recorded cases of infection reached 3858.
