Канадский доллар рухнул после решения Трампа ввести пошлину на древесину

Канадский доллар рухнул, обновив минимальные значения с декабря прошлого года. Резкое падение цены до 1,3580 было вызвано решением Дональда Трампа ввести новый антисубсидионный сбор на импорт пиломатериалов из Канады. Эта пошлина в среднем составит 20% от всего объема импорта хвойной древесины. Решение Трампа отразится на импорте на сумму более $5 млрд. 

Решение о введении антидемпинговой пошлины было принято после подачи жалобы в Министерство торговли на производителей древесины Канады от конкурентов из США. Американских производителей не устраивает факт получения канадскими компаниями правительственных субсидий на растущие на государственной земле деревья. Компании США подобные субсидии не получают, несмотря на то, что выращивают деревья по большей части на частных территориях. 

Доля импорта канадской хвойной древесины составляет более 31% всего рынка США, поэтому введение столь большого сбора очень пагубно скажется на общем экономическом положении Канады. Более того, отношения двух соседствующих стран уже долгое время являются напряженными, а новая пошлина на древесину лишь усугубит конфликт.
