According to the results of the first three months of the 2023-2024 agricultural season (July-September), Egypt has become the main importer of Russian grain. According to the Union of Grain Exporters, the volume of supplies to Egypt during this period increased by 9.1% compared to the previous season and amounted to 2.031 million tons. Analysts note that Egypt has taken a leading position in terms of purchases of Russian grain due to the steady presence of Russian exporters at GASC tenders, which stimulated private purchases. In second place is Turkey, which was supplied with 1.846 million tons of grain from Russia in the period from July to September. This volume is 10.3% less compared to the same period of the previous year. Iran occupies the third position with supplies in the amount of 1.817 million tons, which is 24.7% less than last year. Also in the top 5 importers of Russian grain are Saudi Arabia and Libya, which imported 1.664 million tons and 1.108 million tons, respectively. The total volume of Russian grain exports for the first three months of the season amounted to 18.18 million tons, which is 61% more than the volume in the comparable period of last season, which amounted to 11.2 million tons.
