Управление энергетической информации (EIA) ухудшило прогноз темпов роста нефтедобычи в США в 2018 году с 1,55 млн до 1,53 млн баррелей в сутки. При этом уровень добычи нефти достигнет исторического пика в 10,88 млн баррелей в сутки, что позволит Америке стать крупнейшим производителем нефти в мире.

EIA ожидает, что в следующем году добыча нефти в США составит рекордные 12,06 млн баррелей в сутки, увеличившись на 1,18 млн баррелей, предыдущий прогноз предусматривал рост на 1,16 млн баррелей в сутки.

Сланцевая революция позволила американским нефтепроизводителям выйти в мировые лидеры по добыче нефти, обойдя Россию и Саудовскую Аравию.

В начале октября нефтяные котировки достигли максимума за последние 4 года, но затем упали более чем на 30% из-за беспокойства инвесторов о перенасыщении рынка.

EIA рассчитало, что спрос на нефть за 2018 год увеличился на 520 тыс. баррелей в сутки, до 20,48 млн. Агентство прогнозирует, что спрос на нефть в 2019 году вырастет на 330 тыс. баррелей в сутки, до 20,81 млн баррелей.
