По информации, следующей из доклада Минэкономразвития, объем услуг связи, по итогам 2016 года, сократился на 3,8%. Также, в связи с насыщением рынка, снизились доходы отрасли. Объем отрасли, исходя из данных 2015 года, составил около 165 трл рублей.


Падение заинтересованности населения в услугах местной, междугородней, внутризонной и международной связи снижается из-за растущей популярности и повсеместной доступности IP-телефонии. По итогам 2016 года проникновение мобильной связи составило 180%.


По словам главы министерства Николая Никифорова отрасль близка к исчерпанию потенциала роста
