Дефицит госбюджета США в феврале 2019 года достиг $233,977 млрд, увеличившись на 8,7% по сравнению с аналогичным периодом прошлого года. Согласно данным Министерства финансов США, это рекордное отрицательное сальдо за всё время ведения расчетов.

При этом доходы бюджета за отчетным период выросли на 7,5%, до $167,265 млрд. Поступления от налогов на доходы физлиц увеличились на 5%. Тогда как таможенные сборы подскочили на 93%, до $3 млрд, из-за повышения импортных пошлин.

Расходы бюджета на февраль 2019 года составили $401,243 млрд, что на 8,2% больше прошлогоднего показателя.  Наиболее существенное увеличение затрат было зафиксировано в сельскохозяйственной (24%) и транспортной (32%) отрасли.

Дефицит госбюджета США по итогам 2018 финансового года, который завершился 30 сентября, достиг почти $779 млрд, уверившись за год на 17%,. Таким образом, он составил 3,9% от ВВП страны, что является максимальным показателем с 2012 года.
