Representatives of the Bundestag said that the Green Party, opposing the Nord Stream 2 project, is causing serious damage to the whole of Germany. First of all, preventing the project will harm German gas consumers, as well as energy supplies to Europe. The regulator stressed that at present it is urgently necessary to ensure gas supply to Europe against the background of the current increase in the prices of «blue fuel». As practice has shown, the announcement of a further postponement of the certification of Nord Stream 2 alone led to a 10% increase in gas prices on short-term markets. Therefore, the authorities understand that it is necessary to ensure gas supplies independent of other countries. The certification process of Nord Stream 2 operator Nord Stream 2 AG remains suspended until the transfer of the main assets and personal funds to the subsidiary is completed. The Green Party in Germany traditionally opposes the Nord Stream-2 project. Currently, the party is negotiating the formation of a new German government, which the Greens can also enter.
