• Inflation forecast in Russia: decrease by 2025. Experts expect that by the end of 2025, inflation will drop to 5-6%. This will be possible due to the continuation of tight monetary policy and more cautious budget spending. Currently, according to Rosstat and the Ministry of Economic Development, annual inflation accelerated to 9.52% on December 16.

• Political instability in the United States: a threat to Speaker Mike Johnson. Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson risks losing his post. Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Johnson's ignoring his recommendation to raise the national debt ceiling. Trump's allies have already called the speaker a «traitor» to Republican interests. According to the Daily Caller, Johnson may lose the support of the president-elect and be removed from office as early as January 3.

Trump sees these steps as a way to strengthen the American empire, inspired by the examples of his predecessors who expanded the territories of the United States.

• Breakthrough in the treatment of bowel cancer: a drug with 100% effectiveness. Scientists have developed a revolutionary drug for the treatment of intestinal cancer – Jemperli, which has already been called a «breakthrough»  in medicine. All 42 patients who participated in the clinical trials have fully recovered. The drug was previously used for the treatment of uterine cancer. The results of the new study are currently being studied by the US Department of Health to assess the possibilities of wider application.

• Parallel imports from the Russian Federation will be gradually phased out. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to update the list of goods allowed for parallel import in the first quarter of 2025. However, the number of positions in the list will decrease. This is due to the fact that high-quality domestic analogues are appearing in Russia, as well as expanding trade relations with friendly countries. During the operation of the parallel import mechanism, the volume of imported products decreased from $4 billion to $3 billion per month.
