In particular, Austria announced the introduction of a nationwide quarantine and mandatory vaccination from February. Germany also did not rule out the introduction of similar measures, which raised concerns about the fall of the largest European economy. As a result, the DAX index in Germany fell to 16.101.62, the French CAC 40 fell to 7.074.00, and the British FTSE 100 showed a decline to 7.202.05. The pressure on the stock market was exerted not only by the news about the coronavirus. Additional negatives were brought by macroeconomic publications. Thus, the indicators of producer price inflation (PPI) in Germany for October indicated that prices increased by another 3.8% over the month, as a result of which the annual rate of factory price inflation in Europe's largest economy reached 18.4%. French data showed that unemployment in the third quarter grew more sharply than expected – up to 8.1% of the workforce. At the same time, the latest GfK consumer confidence index in the UK unexpectedly rose – from minus 17 in October to minus 14 in November. And retail sales jumped more than expected – by 0.8%.
