According to the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, plans of sales tax hike will still be pushed through unless there comes and huge economic event that would shake the nation. He compared the degree of economic shock with the Lehman crisis. Otherwise, sales tax hike will proceed while the government will implement countermeasures in cases of higher taxes on the economy, Abe added. Abe vowed to adjust their sales tax to 10 percent from 8 percent in the 10th month of 2019.
