The deputy head of Iran's economic department for Economic Affairs, Seyed Ali Rouhani, said that Tehran intends to offer Russia to use the Iranian territory as a safe corridor for the export of Russian grain to third countries. Rouhani noted that Iran is ready not only to buy Russian grain for its own needs, but also to open its doors to deliver this product to other countries. «The Russian side can count on Iran as a reliable and long-term partner,» Rouhani stressed. At the same time, the deputy minister pointed out that Russia has not yet taken advantage of this opportunity. He noted that the situation in Ukraine and the subsequent anti-Russian sanctions of the West made the Iranian direction the preferred and safe route for the transportation of Russian grain. Despite this, the development process of this route is not going as fast as we would like. However, of course, this path is the path of long-term partnership and strategy, the Iranian official summed up.
