Katie Wood named the best company in the field of AI

The head of the Ark investment fund, Katie Wood, said that she is a big fan of the British company DeepMind, specializing in the development of artificial intelligence.

Katie Wood believes that DeepMind is one of the leaders in the field of artificial intelligence in the global arena. The company was founded in 2010 and became part of Google in 2014, after which it was renamed Google DeepMind.

Wood claims that DeepMind has played a key role in the development of Google, doing research in the fields of robotics, deep learning and neuroscience. Among the company's outstanding achievements is the development of AlphaFold, a system capable of predicting three–dimensional protein structures. 

In addition, Alphabet, Google's parent company, recently announced its intention to merge DeepMind with Google's research group, known as Brain.

In the world of technology, there is increasing competition in the field of artificial intelligence between major players such as Google and Microsoft. The latter, in particular, has made significant investments in OpenAI.

Some experts worry about the possible formation of a «bubble» in the artificial intelligence sector, similar to the «dotcom bubble» of the late 1990s. However, Wood is sure that earlier technologies were not yet ready for the widespread adoption of AI, and the costs of their development were excessively high. Things are different now.
